Pickering – A Proposal

This proposal is for a set of digital artworks for Pickering that merges abstracted cloud forms with historical images from the city’s past. These pieces would create a dreamlike portal that connects Pickering’s heritage to its present and future. To deepen the narrative, I integrated symbolic circular forms: a 360-degree compass rose evoking navigation and place, a timeless twelve-hour clock face suggesting history’s cyclical nature, and an abstracted iris pattern to represent identity and vision. Together, these elements would foster a sense of orientation, continuity, and belonging, inviting viewers to see Pickering’s evolving story as both personal and shared.
