You see with your mind, not with your eyes. The mind’s eye keeps things simple. It does not distract you with detail. But test your limits. Focus on the motion of waves on water. Try to make out the structure. Try to follow just one wave. You’re soon overwhelmed! The waves are nothing like the simplified version you thought you knew. You weren’t really seeing them at all.
