You know that the earth is a rotating sphere, but it does not feel that way. You’re standing on a fixed, flat, solid, earth where the sun rises and sets. Physics, chemistry, psychology – they tell you that your version of what’s ‘real’ does not line up with the facts. This contradiction, this slippage, evokes the feeling or irreality.
